A Breif Introduction

Hello, and welcome to my blog. I will do my best to keep my spelling and grammar in order so as to avoid misinterpretation, and make my thoughts clear. Please forgive any lapses in writing ability, as I'm only human, and am not only capable of, but doomed to make mistakes at times.

My goal with this blog is simple. I'm going to read The Bible, the entire thing, all the way through, and share my thoughts on what I am reading with anyone who cares to listen. I may also, at times, comment on my beliefs pertaining to other subjects. This is a blog of beliefs, a blog of my modest opinion.

The Beginning

"Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."" (Genesis 1:26)

I find the use of 'us' and 'our' interesting. It just seems a tad strange as God, and the animals are basically the only living creatures at this point, as far as the bible has stated, and the use of plural forms of address suggest someone else is there. Odd.

I would also argue that giving man control over basically all life on the face of the earth before you have created him, and seen his ability to live with this responsibility, might not have been the best decision ever. The rate of extinction today is testament enough to that.

(Genesis 1:29)

In this God basically states that man can eat anything he wants. This is later vastly contradicted in the story of Adam and Eve.

(Genesis 2:2)

I find it odd that god would make the day on which he rested holy. It would make more sense to me to make the day he started, or the actual last day of work holy, as opposed the the massive rest fest the next day.

-Next post- Adam and Eve... What an adventure that should be.-
